Retreat Guidelines
These are not rules that you need to feel worried about following, but guidelines to help make your retreat experience more beneficial to you.
 
For the duration of the retreat, I invite you to try to:
 
  • Keep silence (this means no talking – except during sharing times)
  • Leave cell phones and other devices turned off or out of sight
  • Not consume any media!
  • Bring a prepared meal or snack, OR have a small 20-minute chore in mind that you could complete mindfully during the retreat (like dusting, washing dishes, sweeping the floor, walking the dog, etc)
  • Be kind to yourself!
  • Drop any expectations of what the retreat should be like!

12:00 PM
• Introduction to the retreat: what it’s all about
• Group introductions and sharing

12:15 PM
• Guided sitting or lying-down meditation – Mindfulness of the Body

12:40 PM
• Introduction to walking/moving meditation
• Instructions for practice
• Independent practice

1:00 PM
• Integrating mindfulness into daily activities
• Choose: group or solo mindful eating, another mindful activity, or take a break

1:30 PM
• Guided sitting meditation – Mindfulness of Emotions and Thoughts

2:00 PM
• Talk from Ally – Mid-Retreat Check-In
• Break

2:30 PM
• Lightly guided sitting meditation

2:50 PM
• Unguided walking, standing, or moving meditation

3:10 PM
• Guided sitting meditation – Kindness

3:30 PM
• Closing, final check-in, and optional sharing about the retreat experience
